Russian beef consumption is expected to drop by 1.2% in 2026 compared to 2021. This follows a downward trend since 2017, when consumption fell by 1.6% year on year. Beef production in Russia is also declining, dropping by 0.9% year on year on average. This has been the trend since 1997, when production fell by 0.2% year on year. In 2021, Russia was the sixth largest beef producer in the world, with 1.6 million metric tons. Mexico was the largest producer, followed by Brazil, China and Argentina.
