Since 2017, Iranian demand for beef has grown at a rate of 2.1% each year. At 390,790 metric tons, Iran's beef production is expected to remain stable in the next five years. The country produced 390,930 metric tons of beef in 2021. This is a slight decrease from the 1966 figure of 402,310 metric tons, representing a 2.6% annual decline. Ethiopia produced the most beef in 2021, followed by Brazil, China, and Argentina.
