Projections indicate consumption will decrease to 748,000 metric tons by 2028 from 751,000 metric tons in 2023, with an average annual decrease of 0.1%. This follows a trend observed since 2019, where Greek meat demand has fallen by an average of 0.5% each year. Meat production in Greece is also on a downward trajectory. By 2028, production is forecasted to drop to approximately 424,000 metric tons from 434,000 metric tons in 2023, averaging a 0.4% annual decline. Historically, Greek meat supply has decreased by an average of 0.1% annually since 1966.
