Since 1997, the demand for Irish whisky has seen a steady decline of 5.6% year on year. Irish whisky exports, however, are set to increase to $1 billion by 2026, up from $818.8 million in 2021. This would represent a 3.2% growth on average each year since 1997, when exports grew 7.9% annually. In 2021, the country ranked fourth in the world in terms of whisky exports, behind the United States, Singapore and Ireland.
