European spirits consumption is forecast to reach nearly €8 billion by 2026, up from €7.5 billion in 2021. Since 2016, demand has increased by 1% each year. Spain was the biggest market in 2021, consuming €1.6 billion, followed by Poland, Italy and Germany. The Czech Republic's consumption rose 3.7%, while Belgium's fell by nearly 39% since 2016. European spirits production is expected to reach €30 billion by 2026, up from €27.4 billion in 2021. Supply has grown 0.4% each year since 2016. The UK was the biggest producer in 2021, at €13 billion, followed by France, Italy and Poland. Slovenia saw a 5.9% rise, while Estonia's production decreased by 6.9% since 2016. European spirits sales are projected to reach €25.3 billion by 2026, up from €24 billion in 2021. The market has declined by 0.8% each year since 2016. The UK was again the biggest market in 2021, at €9 billion, followed by France, Poland and Italy. Spain's sales increased 6.9%, while Denmark's fell 10% since 2016.
