Portuguese whisky exports are expected to drop slightly over the next five years. In 2021, the country was ranked 23rd in the world, with exports totalling $18.8 million. This was slightly behind Austria, which came in at $18.8 million. The United States, Singapore and Ireland came in at second, third and fourth place respectively. Imports of whisky into Portugal are set to see a more significant fall, with a 4.2% year-on-year decrease. In 2021, the country imported $48 million worth of whisky, down from $47.9 million the year prior. Since 1993, the country has seen a 2.9% decrease in demand for whisky.
