Malaysia is set to see a rise in candy import and export over the next five years. Imports are expected to grow by 1.5% year on year, reaching 24.3 million kilograms by 2026, compared to 22.2 million kilograms in 2021. This continues an upward trend since 1994, with an average year on year increase of 0.3%. At present, Malaysia ranks 27th in terms of candy import, with Finland at the top of the list. The United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands are the second, third and fourth largest importers respectively. Exports are also set to increase, rising 2.6% year on year to reach 45.7 million kilograms by 2026, up from 39.2 million kilograms in 2021. This follows a 4% year on year increase since 1994. Malaysia currently ranks 23rd in candy export, with Denmark in the lead. China, Mexico and Belgium take the second, third and fourth spots respectively.
