Import and export of candy to and from Germany is projected to increase in the next five years. German candy imports are expected to reach 216 million kilograms by 2026, up 1.4% year-on-year. This follows a 1.6% yearly growth since 1996. In 2021, the United Kingdom overtook Germany, coming in second with 198 million kilograms, while Germany placed third with 197 million kilograms. The Netherlands ranked fourth. Exports of candy from Germany are also estimated to grow, reaching 384 million kilograms in 2026, a 1.7% year-on-year increase. This follows a 2.8% yearly growth since 1996. In 2021, China placed second with 345 million kilograms, Mexico third with 344 million kilograms and Belgium fourth.
