Swiss chocolate exports are expected to reach a record high of around $940 million by 2026, up 1.1% year on year from $877 million in 2021. Since 1993, Swiss supply has grown by an average of 1.8% a year. Last year, the UK overtook Switzerland to become the world's tenth largest exporter of chocolate, with exports of $877 million. Belgium, Italy and the Netherlands followed in second, third and fourth place, respectively. Swiss chocolate imports are predicted to reach $296 million by 2026, a 1.4% increase year on year from $271 million in 2021. Since 1993, Swiss demand has grown by an average of 1.2% a year. In 2021, Mexico surpassed Switzerland to become the 27th largest importer of chocolate, with imports of $271 million. Germany, France and the UK followed in second, third and fourth place, respectively.
