Panamanian sugarcane production is on the rise. By 2026 it's expected to reach 3.1 million metric tons, a growth of about 1.3% per year on average since 1966. In 2021, Panama was 42nd in the global ranking with 2.8 million metric tons. Bangladesh led the ranking with India, Thailand and China in second, third and fourth place respectively.
