Central African sugarcane production is forecast to reach 130,000 metric tons by 2026, growing at an average of 0.9% a year. Since 1993, production has declined by an average of 1.2% per year. In 2021, Central Africa ranked 74th in the world, overtaken by Suriname which produced 122,720 metric tons. India, Thailand and China ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
