Australia is set to produce 33.6 million metric tons of sugarcane in 2026, a slight increase of 0.2% per year on average since 1966. At 33.2 million metric tons in 2021, the country fell to seventh place in global sugarcane production, overtaken by Mexico. India, Thailand and China were the second, third and fourth largest producers, respectively.
