Iranian sugarcane consumption fell 25% in 2021 compared to the previous year, amounting to 93,000 metric tons. This marks a 30.9% decrease since 2017. Tanzania had the highest consumption in 2021 at 93,000 metric tons, while Brazil, Thailand and Egypt were at numbers two, three and four respectively. Iranian sugarcane production is expected to grow 2.5% annually between 2021 and 2026, reaching 11.4 million metric tons. This marks a 5.6% jump since 1966. Bolivia had the largest production in 2021 at 9.8 million metric tons, while India, Thailand and China were at numbers two, three and four respectively.
