Filipina's sugarcane consumption is expected to rise to around 141,000 metric tons by 2026, up from 108,000 metric tons in 2021. This marks an average yearly increase of 4.2% since 2017. In 2021, the country was the 17th highest consumer, with Madagascar coming in at number one with 108,000 metric tons. Brazil, Thailand and Egypt respectively followed as the second, third and fourth highest consumers. Filipina sugarcane production is predicted to decrease to 20.4 million metric tons by 2026 from 21.8 million metric tons in 2021, a yearly average decrease of 0.8%. Since 1966, domestic production has dropped by 0.5% annually. In 2021, the country was the 12th largest producer, with Indonesia surpassing them with 21.8 million metric tons. India, Thailand and China followed as the second, third and fourth largest producers.
