South African consumption of olives is predicted to reach almost 1,000 metric tons by 2026. Currently, the country stands at 1,000 metric tons, with Senegal ranking ahead of it at the same amount. Italy, the United States and Greece make up the top three rankings in this category, with 2,000, 1,500 and 1,000 metric tons, respectively. Since 2017, South African demand for olives has remained steady. This year, the country is ranked 63rd in the world for olive consumption.
