Slovene olive production is on the rise. It is projected to hit 4,630 metric tons by 2026, up 3.2% year on year on average. Since 1997, the country's production has increased by 18.2% annually. In 2021, Slovenia ranked thirty-first in olive production, with Afghanistan coming in ahead at 3,830 metric tons. Italy, Morocco, and Greece followed in second, third, and fourth place, respectively. Slovene olive consumption was around 1,000 metric tons in 2018, the same as in 2017. In 2018, Slovenia ranked sixty-third in olive consumption, with Guatemala just ahead at 1,000 metric tons. Italy, the United States, and Greece came in second, third, and fourth in the ranking.
