Iraq is set to become one of the main consumers of olives in the world, with consumption rising to 36,000 metric tons by 2026. This is a 1.2% annual increase from 2021, when the country consumed 34,000 metric tons. Meanwhile, Iraq is also projected to become one of the leading producers of olives, with production rising to 38,000 metric tons by 2026. This is a 3.6% year-on-year increase from 2021, when the country produced 31,000 metric tons. In 2021, Iraq ranked 14th in consumption and 23rd in production, while Italy, the United States, Greece and Morocco took the top four spots in both categories.
