Spain is set to remain the world’s second-largest consumer of olive oil by 2026. Consumption is expected to reach 528,000 metric tons by 2026, a 0.2% year-on-year growth. In 2021, Spain consumed 523,000 metric tons of olive oil – a 0.1% decrease compared to 2017. The US and Greece ranked third and fourth, respectively. Meanwhile, Spain is also set to remain the world’s second-largest producer of olive oil. Production is expected to reach 1.99 million metric tons by 2026, a 2% year-on-year growth. Greece, Italy, and Tunisia ranked second, third and fourth, respectively. Since 1966, Spain’s supply increased by 6.7% year on year.
