British strawberry production is on the rise. By 2026, it is forecasted to reach 159,530 metric tons, a 2% increase year on year. This growth is even more remarkable when compared to 1966, when the yearly increase was only 3.4%. In 2021, the UK was in 13th place for strawberry production, with 142,070 metric tons. Germany overtook the UK with the same amount. The US, Mexico and Egypt came in 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively.
