Since 1966, supply of the fruit has decreased 8.3 percent annually. In 2021, the country ranked 79th in the world for production, lagging behind Iraq with 1,550 metric tons. China, Mexico, and Argentina ranked 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively.
