Meanwhile, Bahamian lemon production is projected to drop to 693 metric tons by 2026, a 13.3 percent decrease from 1,550 metric tons in 2021. Since 1966, supply of the fruit has decreased 8.3 percent annually. In 2021, the country ranked 79th in the world for production, lagging behind Iraq with 1,550 metric tons. China, Mexico, and Argentina ranked 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively.
