Salvadoran lemon consumption is set to reach 23,000 metric tons by 2026. This is a 4% year-on-year growth rate since 2017, when demand increased 6.3%. Meanwhile, production of lemons in El Salvador is predicted to reach 14,000 metric tons by 2026. This is a 3.3% year-on-year decrease since 1966, when supply fell by 1.4%. In 2021, El Salvador was ranked 46th in terms of production, with Portugal overtaking them at 16,880 metric tons. China, Mexico and Argentina were the top three producers in that ranking.
