Honduran lemon consumption is estimated to be around 2,000 metric tons in 2021, down 19.7% from 2,490 metric tons in 2020. Demand has been relatively steady since 2017. Honduran lemon production is projected to rise to 31,810 metric tons by 2026, up 2% on average each year from 28,300 metric tons in 2021. Since 1995, production has dropped by 8.5% each year. Honduras ranked 38th in 2021, behind Bolivia's 28,300 metric tons. China, Mexico and Argentina were the top three producers in the world.
