Meanwhile, the country's lemon production is expected to reach 47,190 metric tons by 2026, a 2.1% increase since 2021 and a 3% increase since 1993. In 2021, Costa Rica ranked 32nd in global production, with Uruguay in the lead at 41,780 metric tons. China, Mexico and Argentina ranked second, third and fourth, respectively.
