Maldivian lemon production is projected to reach 50,000 metric tons by 2026, growing 2% each year on average. Since 2009, the country has seen a 1.9% year-on-year increase in supply. In 2021, Maldives ranked 98th in the world, with Seychelles ahead at 44 metric tons. China, Mexico and Argentina came in second, third and fourth respectively. Maldivian lemon consumption reached 2,000 metric tons in 2018, up from the 2,000 metric tons recorded in 2017.
