Latvian cranberry production fell sharply in 2017. According to statistics, it dropped by more than half to around 360 metric tons, compared to 816 metric tons the year before. Since 1997, production has been decreasing year on year, with a total 4% reduction. In 2017, Latvia was the 7th largest producer of cranberries, with Bulgaria taking the lead at 364 metric tons. Canada, Chile and Azerbaijan followed in second, third and fourth place respectively.
