Vietnamese banana consumption is expected to rise to almost two million metric tons by 2026. China, Indonesia and Brazil followed in second, third and fourth places, respectively. Vietnamese banana production is expected to reach 2.5 million metric tons by 2026, with a 1.6% yearly average growth rate since 1966. In 2021, the country was in twelfth place, with 2,264,800 metric tons, just behind Costa Rica. China, Indonesia and Brazil occupied the second, third, and fourth places in this ranking.
