Banana consumption in Lebanon is projected to decrease slightly over the next five years, from 91,000 metric tons in 2021 to 90,000 metric tons in 2026. Since 1966, production has dropped at an average rate of 6.6% per year. As of 2021, Lebanon was in 60th place in the world rankings, with Belize being the top producer at 78,140 metric tons. China, Indonesia and Brazil were the second, third and fourth top producers, respectively.
