Taiwanese grapefruit consumption fell to nearly 4,000 metric tons in 2021, a plunge of 43% from 2020's 7,000 metric tons. Demand for the fruit in Taiwan has grown 59% annually since 2017, though the country dropped to No. 52 in the 2021 rankings, ceding the spot to Hungary at 4,000 metric tons. Vietnam, the United States, and Mexico were the top three countries in the rankings.
