South African demand for grapefruit is set to fall 7% by 2026, according to a recent report. In 2021, South Africa consumed 35,360 metric tons of grapefruit, 8.3% less than in 2017. Iran was the largest consumer in 2021, consuming 54,000 metric tons, followed by Vietnam, the United States and Mexico.
