Consumption of Lao grapefruit is expected to remain at 7 thousand metric tons by 2026. Since 2017 there have been no changes in demand. In 2021, the country was ranked 43rd for its grapefruit consumption, with Greece at the top with 7 thousand metric tons. Vietnam, the United States and Mexico followed as 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
