Demand for Malagasy potatoes is projected to reach 161,000 metric tons by 2026, up 0.6% annually from 2021's 155,000 metric tons. This marks an increase of 0.4% since 2017. Last year, Malagasy potatoes ranked 89th in the world, behind Lithuania at 155,000 metric tons. India, the United States and Russia were the top three producing countries. Malagasy potato production is expected to reach 258,660 metric tons by 2026, an increase of 0.3% each year from 2021's 253,880 metric tons. This is a 0.8% increase since 1966. Last year, Malagasy potatoes came in 84th in the world, behind Albania at 253,880 metric tons. India, Russia and Ukraine were the top three producing countries.
