Rwanda's potatoes consumption is predicted to grow 0.8% each year, reaching 1.54 million metric tons by 2026. This is up from 1.46 million metric tons in 2021 and 0.7% higher than the demand in 2017. Kenya is the leading consumer of potatoes in the region, at 1.46 million metric tons in 2021. India, the US, and Russia followed, at numbers 2, 3, and 4 respectively. Meanwhile, production of potatoes in Rwanda is set to reach 903,730 metric tons by 2026, a decrease of 0.3% each year. This figure is down from 919,340 metric tons in 2021, however, it is still 4.1% higher than the supply in 1966. Ethiopia is the leading producer of potatoes in the region, at 919,340 metric tons in 2021. India, Russia and Ukraine ranked numbers 2, 3, and 4 respectively.
