Meanwhile, potato production in Afghanistan is expected to hit 1.16 million metric tons by 2026, up from 925,730 metric tons in 2021 – an average annual growth rate of 3.8%. Since 1966, Afghan production has increased by 16.7% year on year. Rwanda overtook the country in 2021 with 925,730 metric tons, followed by India, Russia and Ukraine.
