Bahamian demand for potatoes remains unchanged, according to a new report. In 2021, the country was ranked 140th in terms of potatoes consumption, with 3 million metric tons. This was the same as in 2017, when the country also consumed 3 million metric tons. East Timor overtook the Bahamas in 2021, consuming 3 million metric tons. The largest consumers of potatoes in 2021 were India, the United States and Russia, consuming 110 million, 43 million and 28 million metric tons respectively. By 2026, the Bahamas is forecast to consume 3 million metric tons of potatoes, the same as in 2021.
