Consumption of potatoes in Honduras is set to increase over the next five years, growing at an average rate of 1.5% a year. In 2021, Honduras ranked 110th in the world, with a demand of 56,000 metric tons of potatoes. Zimbabwe had the 51,000 metric tons, coming ahead of Honduras. India, the United States and Russia were the top three countries in the ranking. Meanwhile, Honduran potato production is expected to reach 28,070 metric tons by 2026, a 0.6% annual growth rate since 1966. In 2021, the country ranked 119th, with Zambia overtaking Honduras with 27,030 metric tons. India, Russia and Ukraine were the top three countries in the ranking.
