Nicaraguan potato consumption is predicted to increase slightly, growing by 0.6% year-on-year, reaching 35,000 metric tons by 2026. This follows a 1% rise in demand since 2017. In 2021, Nicaragua ranked in 116th place with 34,000 metric tons, overtaken by Zambia. The United States, India and Russia ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Nicaraguan potato production is also set to grow, at a CAGR of 3.3%, to reach 95,040 metric tons by 2026. This follows a 14.4% increase since 1966. In 2021, the country ranked 108th with 78,320 metric tons, overtaken by Cyprus. India, Russia and Ukraine held the 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions respectively.
