Potato consumption is predicted to drop slightly over the next five years, according to a recent report. In 2021, demand was estimated at 7 thousand metric tons, a figure that remained unchanged since 2017. The Maldives came out on top, with India, the United States and Russia respectively coming in second, third and fourth. Meanwhile, potato production is expected to rise slightly over the same time period, with 2021 levels estimated at 6,200 metric tons. This figure has grown 1.6% year on year since 1966. India, Russia and Ukraine respectively came in second, third and fourth in this ranking.
