The country was 129th in the world rankings in 2021, behind Malta, which consumed 12,000 metric tons. India, the United States and Russia were the top three countries in the rankings. Production of potatoes in Cabo Verde is predicted to fall by 4.5% year-on-year and reach 1,810 metric tons by 2026. Since 1966, production has grown by 3.4% each year. The country was 135th in the world rankings in 2021, behind New Caledonia, which produced 2,370 metric tons. India, Russia and Ukraine were the world's top three producers.
