The consumption of potatoes in the UAE is set to reach 118,000 metric tons by 2026. This is a 0.7% average annual growth rate since 2017, when consumption decreased by 0.6%. In 2021 the UAE ranked 101, behind the Dominican Republic at 113,000 metric tons. India, the USA and Russia ranked second, third and fourth respectively. The production of potatoes in the UAE dropped dramatically in 2020 to 256,000 metric tons from 546,250 the previous year. This was a 53.1% decrease from 2019. Since 1980 production has decreased by 44.5%. The UAE ranked 146 in 2021, behind the Comoros at 256,000 metric tons. India, Russia and Ukraine ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
