Potato consumption in Iraq is expected to reach 629 thousand metric tons by 2026, a 0.9% year-on-year increase from 596 thousand tons in 2021. Since 2017, demand for potatoes in the country has declined by 0.1% annually. Iraq was ranked 47th in 2021, with Kyrgyzstan replacing it at 596 thousand metric tons. India, the United States and Russia came in second, third and fourth respectively. Meanwhile, the production of potatoes in Iraq is predicted to drop to 271 thousand metric tons by 2026, a 2.1% decrease from 306 thousand tons in 2021. Since 1966, its output has grown by 10% each year. Iraq was ranked 80th in 2021, with Mozambique overtaking it at 306 thousand metric tons. India, Russia and Ukraine were ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
