Egyptians are set to consume 160,000 metric tons of peanuts by 2026, up from 157,000 metric tons in 2021. This equates to a 0.3% average year-on-year growth since 2017. Egypt was the 27th largest consumer in 2021, behind the Central African Republic. India, Nigeria and the US were the top three consumers, respectively. Egyptian peanut production is also set to rise, reaching 249,080 metric tons by 2026 from 234,120 metric tons in 2021, representing a 1% average year-on-year growth since 1966. Egypt was 19th largest producer in 2021, behind Malawi. India, Nigeria and the US were the top three producers, respectively.
