Paraguay is forecasted to consume more peanuts than it produces by 2026. Peanut consumption is expected to reach 27,000 metric tons by 2026, growing at an average rate of 2.4% annually from 2021. This is an increase from 2017 when consumption rose by 3.1% annually. In 2021, Paraguay was the 68th largest consumer, surpassed by Lebanon which consumed 23,000 metric tons. India, Nigeria and the United States were the top three consumers respectively. Paraguay is projected to produce 20,000 metric tons of peanuts by 2026, a decrease of 1.5% from 2021 when it produced 22,240 metric tons. Since 1966, the country's supply has dropped by 3.7% annually. In 2021, Paraguay was the 51st largest producer, overtaken by the Republic of the Congo which produced 22,240 metric tons. India, Nigeria and the United States were the top three producers respectively.
