Jamaica is on track to consume 5,000 metric tons of peanuts by 2026, unchanged from 2021 levels. In 2017, the country's demand for peanuts was also steady. In 2021, Jamaica was ranked 105th for peanut consumption, overtaken by Trinidad and Tobago at 5,000 metric tons. India, Nigeria and the United States were respectively ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the global ranking. Jamaica is projected to produce 2,000 metric tons of peanuts by 2026, a 1.8% decrease from 2,220 metric tons in 2021. Since 1966, the country's peanut production has dropped 5.2% year-on-year. In 2021, Jamaica was ranked 81st in terms of peanut production, slightly behind Venezuela's 2,220 metric tons. India, Nigeria and the United States were respectively ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the global ranking.
