Norwegian mussel production dropped by 19.7% in 2019, down to 64.5 million metric tons. This made Norway the seventh largest mussel producer in the world, behind the United Kingdom which overtook Norway with 64.5 million metric tons. Germany, the Netherlands and France were the second, third and fourth largest producers respectively.
