French mussel production fell drastically in 2021, with 33.53 metric tons compared to 224.7 metric tons in 2020 - a decrease of 85%. Since 2012, year-on-year production of mussels in France has dropped by 45%. Despite this, the country still ranks ninth worldwide in 2021, with the Netherlands continuing to take the lead with 33.53 metric tons. Germany, the Netherlands and France are ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
