Ethiopia is set to see a 2.7 percent annual rise in greenhouse gas emissions between 2021 and 2026. In 2021, the country emitted 15.8 million metric tons of greenhouse gases, making it the 90th highest producer worldwide. Trinidad and Tobago was the 89th largest producer at 15.8 million metric tons. The United States, India and Russia were the world's top three producers of greenhouse gases, with emissions of 5.6, 2.6 and 1.9 billion metric tons respectively. Since 1976, Ethiopia's demand for greenhouse gases has grown 6.1 percent year on year.
