Greenhouse gas emissions in Tanzania are set to rise steadily over the coming years. In 2021, the country was ranked 96th in the world with 11.29 million metric tons of emissions. This is expected to grow at an average rate of 1.8% year-on-year, reaching 12.68 million metric tons by 2026. Since 1976, Tanzanian demand has increased at an average rate of 3.3% year-on-year. The United States, India and Russia were the top three emitters in 2021, followed by Nepal at number four with 11.29 million metric tons.
