In 2023, North Korea ranked 12th globally in greenhouse gas emissions. Colombia surpassed North Korea with its emissions also standing at about 53 million metric tons. Leading the rankings were Malaysia, Poland, and Kazakhstan, occupying the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
