In the global context, Greece ranked 13th in greenhouse gas emissions in 2023, closely trailing North Korea, which also recorded emissions of around 50 million metric tons. In the same ranking, Malaysia, Poland, and Kazakhstan secured the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively.
