Portugal is set to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions to 35.85 million metric tons by 2026, a drop of 1.7% annually from 38.29 million metric tons in 2021, according to a study. Since 1965, Portugal has seen a 3.8% decrease per year. Hungary ranked higher than Portugal in 2021 with 38.29 million metric tons. The United States, India and Russia were the top three countries in the ranking.
